PSYCHIC FEVER is turning four years of international experience into a celebration of individuality with its second album, DIFFERENT, released July 10.
Speaking during a recent interview in London, the seven-member Japanese group said its experiences performing across 15 countries helped reshape how the members view their differences. Early in their career, they focused on presenting a unified identity. Over time, they began to see their different personalities, voices, and performance styles as a major strength.
That idea runs throughout DIFFERENT. The album draws from hip-hop, R&B, and Afrobeats while allowing each member to bring more of his own musical background into the project.
The group has also taken a larger role in the creative process. JIMMY and WEESA contributed lyrics to several songs, while members have become increasingly involved in arranging music for live performances.
For PSYCHIC FEVER, the album reflects both their growth and a simple message: differences do not need to disappear for people to move forward together.
